Nine siblings, all part of the Melis family, have lived an exceptionally long life, with the oldest sibling being 109. Now, the lunch that they feasted on every day of their lives is being detailed.
There is a Blue Zone Diet recipe that the siblings followed that could be directly linked to their lengthy lives.
Blue Zones include countries such as Greece, Japan, Italy, Costa Rica, and more, where people are known to live well into their 90s and 100s.
People in Blue Zones typically eat a plant-based diet, and only eat a small amount of meat on average, consuming meat, typically pork, only about five times a month.
Seeking to also live very long lives, individuals often like to replicate and marvel about the habits of the people in these Blue Zone areas.

The Melis family, who hails from Sardinia Italy, holds a Guinness World Record title for one of the highest combined ages for nine living siblings, which was received back in 2012.
“Every day of their life, they had the exact same lunch,” said Dan Buettner, who is dedicated to highlighting Blue Zone communities, in an Instagram video detailing the Melis family’s life.
This lunch included sourdough bread, along with a three-bean minestrone – which is a thick Italian soup – with garbanzo, pinto, and white beans.

This doesn’t come as a surprise since beans are a big part of every Blue Zone diet around the world.
The Melis family finished the meal off with a small glass, about 2 or 3 ounces, of red wine.
It is said that they genuinely enjoyed this meal and didn’t do it with the intention of dieting.
