Professional Nd:YAG laser rod, 6 mm dia. x 80 mm length, flat - flat ends, made in Turnov, Czech Republic, by the famous crystal growing company Crytur, during mid 80'. Very good optical quality, slightly used in an R&D laser.  The box is similar to the original one. Yellow color due to additional doping with cerium oxide (CeO
2
) to reduce solarization during pumping - this assures a longer lifetime of the yellow rod than of a regular violet Nd:YAG rod, under the same pumping conditions. Ends flatness lambda/10, ends parallelism less than 10 arcsec, front surfaces less than 5 arcmin from rod axis. One end is AR coated, the other end looks as having a low reflectance mirror coating. Recommended for high energy oscillator, free-running or Q-switched. To be pumped with a flashlamp with matching discharge size (5 - 7) mm dia. x (75 - 85) mm length. Good for material processing, medical, research, or educational lasers. Pictures show the rod, the box and the good optical quality of the rod in transmission.
