Comments: * Vollmer 1; Gutenberg 908; Witte 3. - Hand signed. Signed and dated in the print. Beier attended the arts and crafts school in Karlsruhe and has lived in Munich since 1919. From 1933 to 1956 he taught at the Bavarian Institute for Photography. His trademark from 1923 onwards is the filigree copperplate engraving, quite comparable with Cossmann and his students. Beier was very productive - Witte alone has 259 bookplates - and his commercial graphic work has not been extensively documented to this day. - Small remnants of assembly on the back.
